Post-completion aging studies of bridge structures can provide engineers with valuable insight into maintenance requirements by identifying stress faults/fracture, aging decomposition, abnormal wear patterns, and other age/wear products.

X-Ray, ultrasonic, and magnetic particle testing are three of the more valuable (and most commonly employed) methods utilized for NDT studies on bridge structures.
